Frosty Dream | Bårva, Sweden
From directly above Bårva on a December morning, a road cuts through frost-covered Swedish forest - the entire canopy white and still, the road the only dark line in a landscape that has been erased by overnight frost.

"The quality of the images was greater than I could have ever hoped for. I am proud to call myself a collector of his work."
Matthew D. ·
When the temperature drops below freezing on a still night in central Sweden, the moisture in the air settles directly onto the pine canopy as hoarfrost - coating every needle and branch in white without any snowfall. By morning the forest looks as if it has been dusted with powder, the individual trees barely distinguishable from above, the whole surface reduced to a single pale texture. A road running through it becomes the only readable element in the frame - a dark line through white, giving the scale and the direction that the rest of the image deliberately withholds.
The near-monochrome palette - white frost, dark tarmac, the pale grey of winter sky light - gives this image a quietness that suits spaces where you want something serene and specifically Scandinavian. It works particularly well in winter months but holds its quality year-round.
