At the Peach | Seychelles

Aerial fine art  ·  Tobias Hägg

From directly above the Seychelles shoreline, a wave breaks across pale peachy sand - the foam running vertically through the frame, the warm rose of the wet sand and the pale turquoise of the water bleeding into each other at the edges with no hard boundary between them.

The beaches of the Seychelles are made from crushed coral and shell ground fine over centuries by the Indian Ocean - the resulting sand has a warmth and texture that ordinary quartz sand doesn't, and when wet it picks up the colour of the sky and the sun simultaneously, shifting between pale rose, gold and soft cream depending on the light. From directly above, with a wave breaking across it, the boundary between sand, foam and water becomes entirely fluid - the three elements mixing in the shallow wash into a palette that has more in common with watercolour painting than landscape photography.

The soft, warm palette - peach, rose, pale turquoise and white - makes this one of the most versatile images in the collection for interior use. It works in any room that needs warmth and light without intensity, and pairs naturally with other Seychelles and coastal images from the collection.
