Beneath the Jungle Sky | Seychelles
From directly above the Seychelles, a jungle headland pushes into deep teal water - palm crowns spreading over the shoreline, mangrove at the water's edge, granite boulders visible in the shallows, the jungle and the sea almost the same colour from altitude.

"The quality of the images was greater than I could have ever hoped for. I am proud to call myself a collector of his work."
Matthew D. ·
The Seychelles islands are among the oldest exposed granite on earth - fragments of the ancient Gondwana supercontinent left stranded in the Indian Ocean as the continental plates separated. The coastline where the jungle meets the sea is a compressed zone of palm, takamaka and tropical hardwood growing directly to the waterline, the roots of the mangrove extending into the shallows where the granite boulders break the surface. From altitude the boundary between the land and the water is not a clean line but a gradual transition - vegetation thinning, sand and rock appearing, the colour of the water shifting from dark teal in the deep to pale turquoise over the sand.
The deep green and teal palette gives this image an unusual richness and depth - cool and lush simultaneously, the colour range narrow but the tonal variation within it extensive. It works in spaces where something tropical and specifically green is needed, and pairs naturally with Palm Beach and Anse Lazio from the same island group.
