Hidden Path | Gysinge, Sweden
From directly above Gysinge, the forest canopy fills the entire frame - and threading through it, barely visible between the trees, a narrow path winds from one edge to the other with no clear origin or destination.

"The quality of the images was greater than I could have ever hoped for. I am proud to call myself a collector of his work."
Matthew D. ·
Gysinge in Västmanland is one of central Sweden's oldest protected natural areas - a mixed forest reserve where oak, pine and birch have grown largely undisturbed for over a century. The paths through it were worn by generations of walkers long before the reserve was established, and from altitude they appear as faint warm lines of exposed earth threading between the tree crowns - visible only where the canopy thins enough to show the ground beneath. Shot in summer when the canopy is at its fullest, the path is present but requires the viewer to find it, the forest almost closing over it completely from above.
The image rewards the viewer who takes time with it - the path reveals itself gradually, and once found it changes the whole reading of the composition. The deep green palette and the organic texture of the canopy make this a particularly calm and restorative image, suited to spaces where something quietly natural is needed without the drama of a mountain or coastal landscape.
