Aerial fine art  ·  Tobias Hägg

From directly above Goblin Valley, a desert road cuts through iron-red sandstone with no destination visible in either direction - the only straight line in a landscape made entirely of curves and erosion.

The roads through the San Rafael Swell in central Utah were built for mining access and run with little regard for the landscape they cross - straight where the terrain allows, curved only where the rock formations force it. From altitude a desert road becomes something else entirely: a precise human mark across a surface that took millions of years to form, the contrast between the engineered line and the eroded geology around it absolute. No cars, no signs, no buildings - just the road and the rock.

The warm red palette and the strong diagonal of the road give this image a graphic quality that works in a wide range of interiors. It pairs naturally with Desert Veins and Blue Hour - the three images together covering the same Utah landscape across different perspectives and light conditions.
