Forest Roads II | Eskilstuna, Sweden
From altitude above Eskilstuna, a single road cuts a straight line through dense Swedish forest - the canopy lit from the side by early morning sun, the road itself a pale stripe disappearing into green in both directions.

"The quality of the images was greater than I could have ever hoped for. I am proud to call myself a collector of his work."
Matthew D. ·
The forests around Eskilstuna in Södermanland are a mix of pine, spruce and birch that close over the roads running through them - from the ground the canopy is total, the sky a narrow strip above the tarmac. From altitude the relationship inverts: the forest becomes a continuous surface of green and the road becomes the subject, a precise human line through something that shows no other sign of human presence. Shot at sunrise, the low angle light catches the tops of the trees and throws long shadows across the canopy, giving the surface a texture that flat midday light would erase entirely.
The image works through simplicity - one line, one colour, one light source. It suits spaces that need something calm and Nordic without the drama of a mountain or coastal landscape.
