Ocean View | Faroe Islands
On the Faroe Islands, a single orange timber house sits at the clifftop edge where the grass ends and the Atlantic begins - the ocean filling the horizon behind it, the sky moving fast overhead, the house the only warm colour in the frame.

"The quality of the images was greater than I could have ever hoped for. I am proud to call myself a collector of his work."
Matthew D. ·
The Faroe Islands sit in the North Atlantic between Norway, Iceland and Scotland - eighteen islands of basalt and grass where the wind is constant and the ocean is visible from almost everywhere. The houses here are built low and close to the ground, painted in the same deep colours as the Scandinavian coastal tradition - red, ochre, yellow - colours that hold their own against the grey Atlantic light. This one sits at the very edge of the land, its back to the island and its front facing straight out to sea, the grass running right to the cliff and the ocean beginning immediately below.
The composition reduces to three horizontal bands - warm grass, dark ocean, pale sky - with the orange house as the single point of warmth and human presence at the exact centre. One of the few ground-level images in the collection, and one of the most quietly powerful. It works in any interior that responds to coastal solitude and strong, simple colour.
