Isle of Mist | Stockholm, Sweden
From altitude above Stockholm county, morning fog has covered the landscape entirely - and through it, a single island of forest pushes into the sunlight, deep green against a sea of white mist with nothing else visible in any direction.

"The quality of the images was greater than I could have ever hoped for. I am proud to call myself a collector of his work."
Matthew D. ·
The flat agricultural land around Stockholm collects cold air on still autumn mornings, and when the temperature drops below the dew point the fog forms fast and fills the low ground completely - leaving anything taller than the mist layer standing clear above it. A dense forest island on slightly higher ground becomes, from altitude, an island in the most literal sense: a defined landmass surrounded by a pale sea, the treetops catching the first sun while everything around them is still in white. This window lasts less than an hour before the fog burns off.
The image works through its simplicity - one green form, one white ground, clean edges, no other detail. It suits spaces that need something quiet and distinctly Nordic, and works particularly well where the green has room to breathe against a pale wall.
