Complexity | Dubai, UAE
From directly above Dubai, a highway interchange resolves into pure graphic complexity - stacked flyover levels crossing and looping over pale desert sand, the vehicles on every tier reduced to small moving dots in a system designed entirely for their movement.

"The quality of the images was greater than I could have ever hoped for. I am proud to call myself a collector of his work."
Matthew D. ·
Dubai's highway network was built at a pace and scale that has no equivalent in the world - interchanges designed for future traffic volumes that barely existed when construction began, the infrastructure preceding the city rather than following it. From altitude a multi-level interchange loses its functional logic entirely and becomes something else - a composition of overlapping curves, the shadows of elevated roads falling across the levels below, the desert sand between the structures the same colour as the concrete above it. The tiny vehicles visible on every level are the only indication of what this structure is actually for.
The image works as architectural abstraction - the palette is limited to grey tarmac, pale sand and deep shadow, and the composition fills the frame with curves and intersections that reward close inspection for the layering between levels. It suits offices, studios and any space where graphic urban complexity is at home.
